yes sir scotch. 2nd generation doodle. both her parents were labradoodles as well. her behavior is 100% lab though, which i certainly don't mind. she's super smart, LOVES to play, and lives to please people. my tibetan terrier just lays around ALL day, but she's bred to be a companion dog. she follows you around like a tail and just wants to hang out. my last dog was a bearded collie. i've always been surrounded by doggies.

Our newest is "Pet Of The Month" at my wife's work. They have a pet-friendly policy and Delilah Jones goes to work 3-4 days each week.
Here's a link...

And we can't forget Sal, Dean, Peta, Spud, Lola, and Mudslide.

That's neat about the pet-friendly policy. I'm a little skeptical about the reporting, though. She grows your peppers?

Sal and Dean are the black labs.
Peta, Spud, Lola, and Muslide are the cats.

Delilah Jones believes she is gardening and peppers are her favorite - espcially the hot ones.

Marley - Rhodesian Ridgeback + Pointer
We had to put him down last year, he was 14 1/2 years old. Mrs. Wine and I got him just before we got engaged. Named after Marley's ghost in A Christmas Carol, with a tip of the hat to Bob. Dare I play favorites, naw, but truth be told he probably has been my all-time favorite dog.

Leila - Goldendoodle (Golden Retriever + Poodle)
Named by my daughter, in Persian leila means black beauty. She is the smallest of our dogs, yet the alpha/matriarch of the house. Generally she can be found lying by the upstairs bay windows watching over the neighborhood.

Tully - Chesapeake Bay Retriever & Chocolate Lab
We inherited her from our friends and neighbors who moved back to Australia. We are blessed to have her and a welcome addition to our pack. Whe was named after Tully's Coffee, beautiful brown coat like a rich cup of joe. The funny part about Tully, is she talks like a wookie. She lets me know when it is time to eat, go outside or take a hike (in both senses of the phrase:).

She was about 3 in that picture (Dec '08). I think doodle is a pretty silly name but they are nice looking dogs. Until we got Tully, I hadn't been around a Chesapeake. I'm in love with them now. How old is Fozzie? BTW, great name!

doodle is absolutely a silly breed name, which is very fitting for my extremely silly puppy. her name is actually lucy, which i mentioned with the picture i posted of my other dog (tibetan terrier). she's 7 months now, weighs 42 pounds, and is still growing by the week. eats like a damn horse.

Leila had a medium size Golden Retriever mother and toy size Poodle dad. Must have had a step stool.

Leila weighs about 40lbs. We have a friend who has a Labradoodle named Dylan, and he is a huge dog. Sounds like Lucy is going to be a big one too. We had a vet that said as a general rule you can double the weight at 6 months and that will be about the size of your dog when full grown.

"Must have had a step stool."

hahaha, that reminds me of a 5'7" columbian friend of mine who would use a stool to bang this monster 6'2" woman, no joke.

shit, if she's gonna be double the size she was at 6 months, she'll be 70 pounds! i'll post a picture when she's fully grown.

70 is a nice size dog. This will be a fun little experiment to see if the rule is true. For Marley it was. I think Leila came in under that 6 month guideline. Tully, I have no clue, we got her when she was 4 years old.

As for your Columbian, if there's a will there's a way.

How's he get on with the (shiny/polished) wooden floor ?

Back in Enger-land, we had an English Setter (Lowell, the growel, after Lowell George, wait for it ......... 'cos he had big feat!) and, needing to replace a somewhat 'past its best' old carpet, we fitted similar flat-pack wooden flooring and it was like an ice-rink for the poor lad, he was skating all over the place - but without skates!

Poor mutt would only come into the lounge when he had to, preferring to spend his time in the kitchen, hall, garden, anywhere but the new ice-rink !!!!

haha, well my fozzie is a labradoodle who is quite nimble and has no problems with the slippery floor. i also have a very tiny tibetan terrier though, who looks like bambi on ice when she tries to walk on the shiny wood floors. also, these pictures were taken like an hour after the floors were cleaned, so it looks extra shiny. english setters are such sweet dogs.

Maybe I missed something, but I never saw anything high-horsey in Ringo's comments. Or anything anti the grand tradition of irrelevant and time-wasting posts. She just seems to dislike personal attacks, negativity, Dead-bashing, trolling and eternally howling at trolls, and general yackety yack blech. If that's high horsey, well, I'm guessing she's hardly alone. Sometimes we ride on your horses ... :-)

Incidentally, Ringo, we want Harry! We want Harry! (There's got to be banter to that effect somewhere.)

I'm still trying ... there have been too many computer changes in recent months, I can't even find all my pictures. The incumbent felines are Harry and Chloe, a brown and a gray tabby, respectively, brother and sister (but not the best of friends), and until recently we had Billy, a much-loved stray who lived in our greenhouse, but he is no longer with us :( vanished mysteriously and probably met an unhappy end.

Thanks for the support, I have never objected to off topic and time wasting posts, they are mostly what I write myself, I just object to a bunch of assholes being assholes.

I'm sorry about Billy. Hope he's got a few lives left. My father-in-law had a white stray that hung out around their house and then vanished. That would be nothing, except that this cat was apparently his own father's reincarnation. I am not entirely sure how he concluded that, but he did. It's a bummer to lose your father's incarnation.

You do know you can add the pics like I do by hitting the "add files" link, and selecting your pet pic JPG, right? Easier than all this other biz req'ing intelligence, effort, etc; all the qualities I lack...as long as you trust the poster or know s/he is an idiot, like me, certainly you can assume the link is safe (and LMA makes it so no lineage is visible, etc.).

Here's a pic I scanned of what's available on ur credit report, SS#, home addy, and other info so you don't have to worry about anything "getting out" now that it's available:

Ha! These are great--and isn't it fun to DL pics from gmail onto your smart phone so you have them in your "galley"? I assume you are learning this just as I am--I made my first Forum post a scant few months ago, but it is difficult from the phone. I DL lots of critter pics so that I can show them on my phone--amazing quality!

At least I assume this is something you are having fun with from posts of late.

Now, what I really want to know is does Harry really weigh in at just over 21 lbs? Har, but that one shot is really funny...and, more critically, does he have the "M" for Magic Johnson on his forehead?

Look closely...many of these sorts DO have a vague marking of this nature. My mother, rest her weary bones, loved the Lakers as I do, and had a cat very much like Harry that she named "Magic" for this reason. She insisted that her Magic was the only cat (looked a lot like Harry) that had this "M", and I admit, his was perfect...but, then I started noticing it, vaguely, on most cats of this color, pattern, etc. Tabby-esque, I believe? Sorry, don't know squat bout cats--hat the damn things now, for crapping in my desert landscaping ("their" sandbox of course...from all over the neighborhood).

Where are the coyotes and kit foxes when you need them?

;)

And, I am glad to have company in the "techno twit" department. If we weren't already both taken care of in the relationship department, it might be the beginning of a beautiful...er...better watch out, right?

Right. And to bring this back around to the DEAD, I recall reading quite abit about Jerry and his thoughts on cats being very intelligent, and independent; the usual stereotypical stuff, but he really seemed taken by them. Not a dog person at all, it seemed. But like Rose, I ain't got no citation.

Actually I took those three of Harry with the phone right on the spot and sent them from the phone. I’ve had it (it’s a Droid) about a week and am still not sure what it wants from me :) It makes many demands …

Harry is a big boy (a big mama’s boy), I don’t know what he weighs right now but he is definitely carrying a wide load. He definitely has an “M.”

Interesting if Jerry was a cat person. Bob certainly loves dogs. I really love both* but as an adult have only had cats. Dogs are easier to love. Many people don’t know how to handle cats, cats don’t come and grovel and throw themselves at your feet just because you’re human, but they are just as affectionate if you develop a relationship with them. On their terms. They won’t be subservient. There is no hierarchy or “pack.”

*cats and dogs; Jerry and Bob

And there's so cute. Seriously -- 21 pounds?!? That's the same weight Shorty was (the black beagle mix from the US) when he was suffering from the horrible blood disease that made him anorexic. Of course now he's making up for it, preferably with his adopted little sister's food, and I expect his weight is up. Probably Harry could beat him up, though. Every other cat does.

Testing testing. (Sandy showing vegetarian tendencies.)

Wow, your place looks gorgeous, and your weather even more so (we have snow in October; WTF).

Harry isn't 21 pounds, William Tell just made that up. I'm not sure what he weighs but the last time at the vet I think he was 16 pounds. He was just showing off his belly, of which he is not ashamed. We call that pose, with all four legs up, his dead groundhog position.

Well, I'd say it's a Garfield pose, except Garfield is annoying and Harry is way cute. I used to think those suction Garfields were supposed be Garfield getting smooshed against car windows so that it was a kind of ironic comment. Reading way too much into it, obviously!

Weather ... I think it's gorgeous here now, but hey, it's all relative. The kiddo saw the news about snow in our (U.S.) area and was going, "Waaaaah! We don't have any snow! They have all the luck!" To each his own.

More critter pics (this jpg trick is fun and easy!):

One is a village street dog who is such a sweetheart. She had her leg run over by a tractor, but the kiddo took her in and fed her, and now she lives with the folks there and is mostly recovered.

The other is the late lamented Jeffrey the House Goat, who got stepped on by a water buffalo and consequently consumed. But as you can see, he had a happy life. He is drinking someone's chai.

Such appropriate timing! Just a few days ago was kukur puja (dog worship day), which is part of Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Lots of pups are still walking around town with red marks (tika, a.k.a. blessing) on their foreheads and garlands of flowers. Shorty (globe-trotting American rescue mutt, the black one) still has his garland; Sandy (adopted street dog) ate hers.

This is last year's pic. (Our decent camera is broken now, boo hoo.)

Yeah, well, I think our dogs have a competition going. Sandy ate her garland, many pairs of sandals, and the Playstation (twice; we've fixed it each time. So far.) Shorty, on the other hand, ate our family room sofa back in the States. Fortunately it was Ikea and not some $5000 luxury sofa. We came in one day and he'd literally shredded all the cushions and had fun with the innards.

haha, i think sandy takes the cake. my labradoodle's name is actually lucy, and i try to either keep an eye on her or leave her in her crate so she doesn't destroy everything anymore, but when she's outside she gobbles up everything. she's still a pup. just turned 7 months old. i can't wait to see her play in the snow for the first time. i forgot to post my other doggie. she's a delicate little princess, and the sweetest lap dog. she's now 7, but has always had a puppy look to her.

Snow is interesting when it's taller than you. Particularly when your bathroom is somehow under it, and you can't go potty without suffocating in weird white stuff.

This is Shorty back in the States after a big blizzard. We had to dig a "dog run" around the yard for his toileting pleasure, or it just wasn't gonna happen. (We think he's a beagle-pointer-mousehound. He howls like a beagle, points like a pointer, and kills mice. He got one the other day and kiddo dissected it. Did you know mice can get gallstones?)

No pet for me at the present time, but I couldn't resist posting this dog story from today's news.

"Dog survived gas chamber

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Unnamed and unwanted, the young beagle mix was left anonymously in a drop box outside an Alabama pound. His life was supposed to end in a gas chamber.

Instead, the young stray emerged frightened but unscathed, wagging his tail. Now, he's being hailed as a miracle dog, given the name Daniel after the biblical figure who survived the lion's den.

And he has a fresh start in New Jersey, where a rescue group hopes to find him a good home."
